What are the various types of wood fence?

1. Pine or fir wood fence

Pine or fir wood fences are a popular choice for most people as they are cheap to acquire and long lasting. They last for long periods because they are pressure treated. A water repellant stain is also used in treating pine and fir. This increases their ability to resist negative aspect of rot.

2. Cypress wood fence

Cypress is convenient for wood fence as it is unaffected by insects and termites. Cypress is endowed with a natural chemical that keeps off insects and termites. It is hardly affected by rot hence very durable.

3. Redwood

All the same, it can be partially incorporated in construction of a wood fence. For example, redwood can be used to fence panels while other types of relatively inexpensive woods can be used to construct the rest of the wood fence.

Wood grade selection

Wood grades are classified into:

Clear and premium: Although these wood grades are relatively expensive, they give wood fence a superior appearance. Besides, they have very few imperfections thus an ideal choice.

Select and construction: The two wood grades are relatively affordable and are of great quality. When used, they yield great wood fence.

Standard and Quality: These grades are the cheapest but they have plenty of imperfections. They should be used when other wood grades cannot be afforded.
